  • Pidgeon Island - not to good since the Hurricane
  • Marisule Beach - Wiped out by Hurricane
  • Trouya Beach - Great snorkeling
  • Dead battery
Today we we went to the Pidgeon Island up North of Rodney Bay. We expected to spend the day there and swim, snorkel and have a picnic and hike some of the trails. It turned out that the hurricane had really messed up the beaches there and the water was really murky. We did hike some trails and snorkeled, but the water was not clear so you couldn't see much.

We left there and went to Marisule Beach which is just straight off Grand Revere. The last time we went there it was beautiful and the snorkeling was really good. Well it was also messed up. The water was very murky and all the sand was washed away and just rocks were left. We hung out there a while but Tanner was wondering if there was anywhere else to snorkel close by. We decided to try one more beach that we had found just the other day.

We went to Trouya Beach which is on the far South end of Rodney Bay. It was a bit windy there, but the snorkeling was amazing. The water was very clear and we seen a bunch of fish. We stayed there for a long time. We made plans to come back on Monday morning before we have to take Tanner and Scarlett back to Vieux Fort to fly home.

This evening the missionaries stopped by and were hoping for a ride home. They walked from their house over here to meet a friend they were hoping to teach. He didn't show. They came to our place as it was not to far from where they were to meet the man. We offered them to stay for dinner, but they said they had tons of KFC chicken at home to eat. So Tanner and I took them home.

We stopped at the barbecue  place just down the street from us and ordered some pork and chicken. When we got back in our truck, the battery was as dead as dead. We were a little panicked because we don't know anyone around here. Turns out that the car next to us the guy was a mechanic and he said he could help us. I had some jumper cables and we hocked up to his battery and figured that would start it, but it didn't. Before long we had about 5 guys around my truck trying to help. They brought chargers of their own. Everyone was trying to help us, but that battery would not charge. Finally the mechanic guy, his name was Joel, took his battery out of his car and put it in my truck and that started it. He took it back out and we put my battery back in and it kept running. I thanked everyone for their help and no one seemed to want any money as they all left. When we got out on the road, if I turned the lights on the truck would about quit. So we drove home with only the park lights on and that was iffy. I wasn't sure we were going to make it, but we did. So I left the truck running for about an hour after I got home and thought it might charge it up, but when I finally turned it off and tried to restart it  it was as dead as a doornail. (What does that mean anyway?)
