  • Family from USA visiting served mission in Hurricane

This morning was a little stressful, again, with the dead battery. I went over to Tasha's to see if Linke had a spare battery and he did, unfortunately his battery was dead also. Our only choice was to go to a auto parts store and get a new one. Linke took me down as he has lived here almost all his life and knows everyone and we were going to buy a new one, but the guy at the store convinced me to try and charge it. Stupid me let him do that. I have never had luck charging one up. Anyway it required another trip down town. Linke went back and just bought another battery, which is what we should have done in the first place and saved a trip. The new battery fixed the problem.

Yohan called me about an hour before church to tell me he wouldn't be there. He was in Vieux Fort surprising his brother in law on his birthday. Anyway it was my turn to conduct and it was fast and testimony meeting so it wasn't to bad.

We had a good meeting and we had some visitors from the USA. One had served a mission in Hurricane where we live. It was back in 2003 or something like that. He said he served in the little Spanish branch. I told him it was now a ward and one of it's members was in the stake presidency. He couldn't believe it. One of the visitors gave me $300 US dollars to use at my digression. That is the second time someone has gave me $300 US dollars. I plan to use it on mission funds. 

After church we spent the afternoon with Tanner and Scarlett and played games for most of the afternoon. Cade called and we visited for a while and Sam called and we visited with him for a while.

Wednesday, April 9, 2025 Make a video for our home ward in US Today was a build a video day for our ward back home. They are having a special primary day activity on Friday and they asked us to create a short video with our testimonies.  So I had to learn a new video maker program. I have always used Windows Movie Maker, but they no longer support it and someone else I think owns it and you can use the free version, but it is very limited. Windows 11 comes with a new program called Clipchamp. I think it is also supported by an outside company, but the free version that comes with Windows 11 has all the features I needed.  I did have to read up on how to use it and watched a bunch of Youtube videos for beginners. Between learning how to use it and using it to create a 2 minute video took all day. I finally got it done about 6:00 pm. Sunday, June 22, 2025 Sunday church was pretty smooth. Elder Esikia spoke and goes home next Saturday Lyris Davis spoke on fearing God Harvey showed up but didn't stick around My brother Bevin visiting my sister Tanya Interviewed Mohamad Joseph for temple recommend and Priesthood advancement Benjamin Joseph always asking for stuff from the church Confirmed Anette Valcin today Church went pretty smooth today. Shomario is conducting this month. He got his speakers but I think he got them late. The fact that Maya Jn Paul spoke would make me think that he probably hadn't got his speakers and asked her Saturday night. He asked Elder Esikia to speak and I gave him that suggestion on Saturday so I'm assuming he hadn't got his speakers yet. Elder Esikia spoke on how he decided to go on a mission.
