  • President De'Beauville's funeral service

Today was the funeral service for Clayton John De'Beauville.  We got there early to make sure everything was set up.

Sister Angie McCaunley slept overnight at the church to start cooking early this morning. I think Lyris Davis also slept over night to help. The church looked very nice and was clean from last night when there were people all over the place that came down to clean, cook and set up.

The funeral was incredible. It was my first time conducting a funeral since being a bishop in Cottonwood a long time ago.

Each speaker did very well. Denzel De'Beauville gave the eulogy of President D. He was followed by President Nicolaus who is the branch president in Vieux Fort. He spoke on the plan of Salvation and gave a very good talk.

Angie McCaunley sang a song, can't remember the name, but it was really nice. She was followed by Rosa Paul that spoke on repentance and baptism. She is such a good speaker and a very good person. She is a real strength to the branch. We use her for about everything.

I spoke last, but just gave a few thoughts and bore my testimony. I spoke about the talk by ??? "Sunday will come" It was a talk given one week before my dad passed away in 2006. It was a general conference talk. Most of the songs for the funeral were done by Tabernacle Choir on Tempe Square. On video of course. The final song was God Be With you, Til we meet again"

We had a small meal for everyone who came and it was nice. 

Odella came to the funeral and came and talked with me for a while, actually quite a while. It was surprising because she taught our temple class, but has not come to church since. She visited with me like I was her long lost friend. 

We had a ton of non-members at the funeral. We received many favorable comments on it after. Many said they had never been to a funeral like this. The spirit was very strong so you would have been affected by it.

The funeral took most of the day by the time we got everything cleaned up for church tomorrow.

Over all I think the family was very pleased with how the funeral was. I know President D would have been.

Wednesday, April 9, 2025 Make a video for our home ward in US Today was a build a video day for our ward back home. They are having a special primary day activity on Friday and they asked us to create a short video with our testimonies.  So I had to learn a new video maker program. I have always used Windows Movie Maker, but they no longer support it and someone else I think owns it and you can use the free version, but it is very limited. Windows 11 comes with a new program called Clipchamp. I think it is also supported by an outside company, but the free version that comes with Windows 11 has all the features I needed.  I did have to read up on how to use it and watched a bunch of Youtube videos for beginners. Between learning how to use it and using it to create a 2 minute video took all day. I finally got it done about 6:00 pm. Sunday, June 22, 2025 Sunday church was pretty smooth. Elder Esikia spoke and goes home next Saturday Lyris Davis spoke on fearing God Harvey showed up but didn't stick around My brother Bevin visiting my sister Tanya Interviewed Mohamad Joseph for temple recommend and Priesthood advancement Benjamin Joseph always asking for stuff from the church Confirmed Anette Valcin today Church went pretty smooth today. Shomario is conducting this month. He got his speakers but I think he got them late. The fact that Maya Jn Paul spoke would make me think that he probably hadn't got his speakers and asked her Saturday night. He asked Elder Esikia to speak and I gave him that suggestion on Saturday so I'm assuming he hadn't got his speakers yet. Elder Esikia spoke on how he decided to go on a mission.
