• St Lucia holiday
• Visited Desmond Jules
• Chef Robby and big boat
• Beaches packed with people

Today was a national holiday in St. Lucia. Not sure what it was but many of the shops were closed. Some businesses were still open. There was hardly anybody downtown today so I guess all the working class people took it off. 

We decided that we were going to go visit Desmond Jules today. We haven't seen him for a long time. He is living with a girl and he lives way out in the sticks. We decided to go check on him and see how he was doing. 

We weren't sure if we knew exactly where he lived but we ended up driving straight to his house which is the second last house up a mountain in the middle of the island. He was very friendly and showed us what he had been working on around his place. He told us he had a premonition that we would be coming by to visit him. These people seem to have visions and dreams. 

After visiting with Desmond and he also gave us a bag of cinnamon off his cinnamon tree. We are drying it and plan to use it to make cinnamon rolls next week. 

We decided to do a little exploring in that area where he lives while we were over there. As we were driving up to this place where we thought there was a bird refuge of some sort. We passed a guy and told him where we were going and he gave us directions. As we drove up the mountain to the place, another guy on the side of the road flagged us over and told us he would take us to the place. We really didn't want to take him because we knew he was going to want money when he was done. Anyway, we loaded him up and drove to the top of the hill and the bird place was closed for the holiday. Then the guy wanted us to go buy him a drink in the local place there at you and we said we didn't have time to do that. We drove down the mountain and finally got to a shop that was open and he wanted to get out and of course wanted some money. Unfortunately I only had a $20 EC bill so I gave him that. 

We drove back to Castries and we're trying to find a place to eat that we have been looking for for about the whole time we've been on the island. It's called Chef Robby's. They have signs on everything all over the island. Rocks, fence poles, telephone post, walls, you name it. They have put a sign for it up but with no address or directions. We had an idea that it was in Castries somewhere so I dropped Tina off at a place we thought it might be at at and she went scouting around while I drove around the block two or three times. Finally she came out and said she found it. It was in a little mall right next to the harbor. It just happened. There was a cruise ship in that completely blocked any view we had. It was a pretty good size cruise ship.

Turns out that the food there is mostly seafood and they didn't have much of anything else. I did find a hamburger with fries and that's what I got. It was okay but not great. 

After that we came home and decided that we were going to go snorkeling. We went down to our secret Beach which was not secret today as it was packed. We went to two other beaches and they were packed. Also. If you're going to go to the beach on a holiday you need to go early in the morning. So we ended up just coming home and spending the evening here. We watched a Christmas movie that was a little slow but had a nice story to it.
