  • People coming back to church with the new year 
  • Aaronic priesthood interview with Benjamin
  • Brett received the aaronic priesthood and was ordained a deacon.

Yohan and his wife Sharlyne came to church today for the first time in about a month. Maybe having them over for dinner the other day paid off. 

The Santos also came to church and they haven't been for about a month either. I was told that people don't come to church during the Christmas holidays for some reason. 

Anyway, when we started church there was hardly anybody there but before it was over we ended up with about 56 people. We had a family come in from Las Vegas that were vacationing here. Their son had just got off his mission not too long ago. 

We had several investigators that also came. One was the guy that came on Friday night that the sisters had invited. Kelly didn't make it to church so it probably looks like he won't be baptized next Saturday. 

I interviewed Benjamin who was baptized a couple of weeks ago to receive the aaronic priesthood. He is a different person and at one time he said he was Jesus Christ. Now he doesn't seem to think he is, but he has been called to spread his word and apparently he has all kinds of visions and dreams about things. Anyway, we had a good conversation about the aaronic priesthood and went over it pretty thoroughly. 

He told me once he gets the aaronic priesthood he can go out and really teach the people. He's a hard person to talk to about the church as he has many ideas and I'm not sure he still doesn't think he is Jesus Christ. Anyway, he comes to church every week which is better than most of the other people. 

He also feels like he doesn't need money and that God will just take care of him because he is spreading his word. Anyway, he is wondering if the church could help him out. Interesting. I tried to explain to him that God expects us to work but I'm not sure he is getting it.

We had a really good fast end testimony meeting today and a lot of people got up and shared their testimonies. 

Tasha's daughter who lives in the United States is home for Christmas visiting. She is going back on Tuesday I guess. 

We did a video call with Kameron our son and he was ordaining his son Brett to be a deacon in the aaronic priesthood. So we got to watch it from here.

Wednesday, April 9, 2025 Make a video for our home ward in US Today was a build a video day for our ward back home. They are having a special primary day activity on Friday and they asked us to create a short video with our testimonies.  So I had to learn a new video maker program. I have always used Windows Movie Maker, but they no longer support it and someone else I think owns it and you can use the free version, but it is very limited. Windows 11 comes with a new program called Clipchamp. I think it is also supported by an outside company, but the free version that comes with Windows 11 has all the features I needed.  I did have to read up on how to use it and watched a bunch of Youtube videos for beginners. Between learning how to use it and using it to create a 2 minute video took all day. I finally got it done about 6:00 pm. Sunday, June 22, 2025 Sunday church was pretty smooth. Elder Esikia spoke and goes home next Saturday Lyris Davis spoke on fearing God Harvey showed up but didn't stick around My brother Bevin visiting my sister Tanya Interviewed Mohamad Joseph for temple recommend and Priesthood advancement Benjamin Joseph always asking for stuff from the church Confirmed Anette Valcin today Church went pretty smooth today. Shomario is conducting this month. He got his speakers but I think he got them late. The fact that Maya Jn Paul spoke would make me think that he probably hadn't got his speakers and asked her Saturday night. He asked Elder Esikia to speak and I gave him that suggestion on Saturday so I'm assuming he hadn't got his speakers yet. Elder Esikia spoke on how he decided to go on a mission.
