• Visit day Jane and Crystal, Feria, Merlika and Rosa Paul.
• Karaoke night and Valentine's Day.

Today we set out on a mission to go visit people on the south side of the branch.

Our first visit was to Jane nurse. We hadn't been over there for a while and Crystal and Ashton have brought their baby Aaron home. Tina wanted to get over there and hold the baby. They did bring it to church last week but we didn't get a chance to really visit with them. 

We had a nice visit and left them a message about family home evening and being good parents and teaching their children why they are young to follow Jesus Christ. I told them about some scriptures that say that Satan has no power over children before the age of accountability. It is important that they instill strong principles of goodness in them why they are young. 

I guess Ashton beat up a guy that was harassing his mother and he got in trouble with the law. Anyway, he wasn't home and was at court trying to get the charges dropped. The man continues to harass Jane. We haven't heard how the court turned out. 

After visiting with Jane, we called sister D to see if we could come by and visit her but she was going somewhere. So we called Feria and went and visited her. She is doing okay but has had a headache for several years and is trying to get enough money to have a brain scan. They can't seem to find out what is causing the problem. We always leave their homes with a prayer and did there also. 

We then called Merlika to see if we could stop by and visit her. She said we could. We had kind of a funny conversation with her before about her mother who has come to church a few times but is not a member. She thinks our music is too slow and likes going to those places with more upbeat music. Interestingly enough, the church just released a song that is one of those types of songs for the hymnbook very uncharacteristic of songs that the church sings. But it is very upbeat. I told her that she could tell her mom. We now have an upbeat song so she can come to church. We had a good laugh about it. 

After leaving her house we called Rosa to see if we could stop by and say hi to her. She said we could. Rosa's family is a very hard-working family. They're always gathering drying making stuff that they can sell. They were drawing some seeds that pop when they dry. Once they dry they do something to squeeze the oil. Out of them. I want to say linseed oil but that is not right. It's an oil you take when you're sick, but I can't think of the name of it. Oh wait a minute. I think it's castor oil. Anyway, the seeds were popping while we were there. Very interesting. They put them out in the Sun and when they get hot the seed pops out and it doesn't just fall out. It flies out. You have to keep them otherwise you'll have them all over the place. They were also making chocolate to sell. That is another process. Kind of interesting. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was. I'm going to try and get a video of the process sometime before I go home. 

After visiting with Rosa, we came home and had dinner. Actually we bought dinner at a Greek place. It was okay. 

Tonight was karaoke night at the church and we had a good group of people there.Merlika came tonight because I gave her $10 as a Valentine's gift so she could afford to get a bus and come to karaoke night. She loves to sing but she hasn't been able to afford to come.
